Estimate, not a quote. Where a line shows a range, the total, per-hour and per-mile figures use its midpoint— insurance moves most with your experience and time in type, hangar with where you base the aircraft, so your own number could sit at either end. Annual inspection is the shop's labor to open and inspect — what they find is the maintenance line, which covers oil changes, plugs, tires, brakes, hoses, lights, a battery and vacuum pump amortised over their life, and the unscheduled squawks that are the largest and least predictable part of it. Reserves are sinking funds toward an overhaul, not a bill you pay this year — and note that a propeller is due on hours or calendar time, typically six years, so flying less does not put it off forever.

Overview
The 1962 Cessna 172C introduced the key-operated ignition starter -- a creature-comfort upgrade that finally eliminated the pull-starter handle on the dash. It also introduced an optional autopilot (Cessna 200 series), six-way adjustable front seats, and an optional rear child seat (5th seat) that increased apparent passenger capacity to five. About 889 172Cs were produced in the single 1962 model year.
Beyond the starter and interior tweaks, the 172C is mechanically identical to the 172B: Continental O-300-D, 2,250 lb gross, swept tail, fastback fuselage with small rear windows. From outside, only an expert can tell a 172B from a 172C. The 172C is therefore typically valued nearly identically to the 172B in the resale market, with a small premium for the key starter convenience.

Identical to 172B: 114 KTAS, 645 FPM climb, 7.0 GPH at 75% power. Slight empty weight increase (~5 lbs) from the autopilot/seat hardware, reducing useful load from 970 lbs to ~965 lbs -- inconsequential.

The 1962 model year introduced the Cessna 200 single-axis autopilot as a factory option. By modern standards it is rudimentary -- wing-leveler with limited heading-hold authority -- but it represents the first 172 available with any autopilot capability. Original 200 autopilots are rarely functional today; most surviving 172Cs have either had the autopilot removed or upgraded to a Garmin GFC 500 or similar modern system.
The 6-way adjustable seats and optional child seat reflect Cessna positioning the 172 as a family airplane rather than purely a trainer.
