Privacy Policy

Last updated August 27, 2026

This policy explains what Find My Wings LLC collects when you use findmywings.com, why we collect it, who else sees it, and how to get rid of it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than the usual fog.

The short version

We collect the email address you sign in with, anything you choose to tell us about your flying, and a record of the reports and listings you save. We do not sell any of it, and we do not run advertising trackers. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it — see Deleting your account.

What we collect

Your account. Your email address, and the times you sign in. If you set a password we never see it: passwords are handled and hashed by our authentication provider, and we cannot read them. You can sign in with a one-time emailed link instead and never set one at all.

Your pilot profile, if you fill it in. Total hours, hours in the last twelve months, certificate and ratings, medical class, the kind of flying you do, and a budget range. All of it is optional. We use it to make recommendations less generic, and for nothing else.

What you save and ask for. Aircraft models and listings you star, alerts you subscribe to, tail-number reports generated for you, and — once paid reports launch — a record of what you bought, so you keep access to it.

Ordinary server logs. Our host records requests, including IP addresses, as part of running the site and stopping abuse. We use the IP address to rate-limit sign-in attempts, which is what stops someone guessing their way into your account.

What we do not collect

No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. No card numbers — when paid reports launch, payment happens on our processor's own checkout page and card details never reach our servers. We do not buy personal data about you from anyone else.

Cookies and local storage

We set a cookie to keep you signed in, and briefly during a password reset to confirm you arrived from your own email. Your light or dark theme preference is stored in your browser and never sent to us. That is the whole list.

Aircraft data, and where it comes from

Reports draw on public records — the FAA aircraft registry, NTSB accident data, and FAA Form 337 major repair and alteration records — together with our own aircraft catalogue. Registration records are public by law, and we do not add anything to them.

Report text is generated with the help of AI working from those records. It can be incomplete or wrong. It is research, not a substitute for a logbook review, a title search or a prebuy inspection.

If you own an aircraft and believe a report about it is inaccurate, write to info@findmywings.com and we will look at it.

Who else sees your data

We use a small number of established service providers, each for one job, and each sees only what that job needs:

  • Hosting and database — stores your account and runs the site.
  • Authentication — verifies who you are when you sign in, and holds your password if you set one.
  • AI processing — turns aircraft records into readable report text, and powers search across our catalogue.
  • Email delivery — sends sign-in links, alerts and notifications.
  • Payment processing — will handle payments when paid reports launch.

All of them are bound to use your data only to provide that service to us. If you want to know exactly who they are, ask us at info@findmywings.com and we will tell you.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising. We will disclose data if the law actually requires it.

Dealers and listings

If you contact a dealer through a listing, that dealer sees what you send them. Dealers are independent businesses and handle your enquiry under their own practices, not ours. Listings are supplied by dealers, who are responsible for their accuracy.

How long we keep it

Your account data stays until you delete your account. Reports you have paid for are kept so that you keep access to them. Records of payments are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, even after an account closes — that is a legal obligation rather than a preference.

Your rights

You can see and change your profile at any time from your account. You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@findmywings.com. Depending on where you live you may have further rights, including under California law. We apply the same practices to everyone rather than running two standards.

Deleting your account

Delete means delete. When you delete your account we remove it and the reports associated with it — we do not keep a shadow copy. Download anything you want to keep first, because we cannot get it back for you afterwards. Payment records are the one exception, as described above.

Security

Accounts sit behind database-level access controls, and every credential our services use is scoped to only what that service needs. When you set a password we check it against a public database of passwords exposed in past breaches, so you are warned before reusing one that is already circulating. Your password is never sent anywhere during that check.

No system is perfect, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.

Children

Find My Wings is for adults buying aircraft. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we will tell you by email.
