Estimate, not a quote. Where a line shows a range, the total, per-hour and per-mile figures use its midpoint— insurance moves most with your experience and time in type, hangar with where you base the aircraft, so your own number could sit at either end. Annual inspection is the shop's labor to open and inspect — what they find is the maintenance line, which covers oil changes, plugs, tires, brakes, hoses, lights, a battery and vacuum pump amortised over their life, and the unscheduled squawks that are the largest and least predictable part of it. Reserves are sinking funds toward an overhaul, not a bill you pay this year — and note that a propeller is due on hours or calendar time, typically six years, so flying less does not put it off forever.

The 1968 Mooney M20G Statesman was Mooney's budget stretched-cabin Mooney -- the M20F's 10-inch fuselage extension with the M20C/D's 180 HP carbureted Lycoming O-360 engine. The result was a Mooney with usable rear-seat space at a lower acquisition price than the 200 HP M20F. Production: approximately 597 units across 1968-1973.
The M20G is the least common stretched Mooney. It was discontinued after the 1973 model year as Mooney focused production on the M20F and the upcoming M20J 201, leaving the budget stretched-cabin slot empty in subsequent production.
IO-360 Conversion Option
A common STC permits replacing the O-360-A1D with the M20F's IO-360-A1A 200 HP fuel-injected engine. Cost: $45,000-$35,000 installed. After conversion, performance approaches M20F levels.
For owners considering this conversion: verify with appraiser that the post-conversion airframe will sell at M20F prices rather than M20G prices. Some buyers consider field-converted M20G-to-M20F examples less desirable than factory M20Fs due to documentation complexity.
