The Jabiru J-series is a family of Australian light aircraft built by Jabiru Aircraft Pty Ltd of Bundaberg, Queensland, founded in 1988. The J170, J230, and J430 share the same composite airframe DNA — strut-braced high wing, side-by-side seating, tricycle gear, and proprietary Jabiru engines — scaled across two-seat light-sport and four-seat experimental categories.

Jabiru USA Sport Aircraft (based in Shelbyville, Tennessee) has distributed factory-built and kit versions in North America since 2001, with full S-LSA production for the US market beginning around 2005. The fleet totals over 130 registered US LSA owners and more than 3,500 Jabiru engines flying in the United States with over one million fleet hours logged worldwide.

The J230 is the primary US-market aircraft, certified as an S-LSA under ASTM F2245. It sits on the FAA's approved Special Light-Sport Aircraft list and is Sport Pilot eligible. The J170 uses the same fuselage with the smaller 85 hp Jabiru 2200 engine and LSA-compliant wings. The J430 is a four-seat variant certificated in the US exclusively as Experimental/Amateur-Built; it has never held FAA type certification.

The aircraft's reputation is shaped heavily by its Jabiru engines.
