Developed as a twin-engine derivative of the Piper Cherokee Six, the PA-34 was first certified on 7 May 1971 and introduced as a 1972 model year aircraft. With over 5,000 airframes built through 2019 and licensed production in Brazil (Embraer EMB-810) and Poland (PZL M-20 Mewa), the Seneca is one of the most successful piston twins ever produced.
