Where a line shows a range, the total, per-hour and per-mile figures use its midpoint— insurance moves most with your experience and time in type, hangar with where you base the aircraft, so your own number could sit at either end. Annual inspection is the shop's labor to open and inspect — what they find is the maintenance line, which covers oil changes, plugs, tires, brakes, hoses, lights, a battery and vacuum pump amortised over their life, and the unscheduled squawks that are the largest and least predictable part of it. Overview
The Beechcraft Model 33 was introduced in 1960 as the "Debonair" — a lower-cost alternative to the V-tail Bonanza with a conventional tail. Initially distinguished by a less powerful engine and simpler interior, the Debonair gradually evolved to match V-tail performance. By 1968, Beechcraft dropped the Debonair name entirely, and from the E33 onward these were simply called "Bonanza 33."
The F33A (1970-1995) is the definitive straight-tail Bonanza — same IO-520-BA (285HP) as the V35B, same 3,400 lb gross weight, same performance, but with a conventional tail that eliminates the V-tail's controversial safety record and associated ADs. Many buyers prefer the F33A over the V35B precisely for this reason, and prices reflect it — the F33A often commands a premium over equivalent-year V35Bs.
The F33C is the aerobatic variant (+6G/-3G), certified for aerobatic flight and popular with pilots who want Bonanza cross-country capability with aerobatic credentials. Only a limited number were produced, making them rare and desirable.

Performance
The F33A delivers essentially identical performance to the V35B — 172 KTAS cruise at 75% power, 1,167 FPM climb at gross weight. Real-world owners report 158-165 KTAS at economy cruise settings (55-60% power) on 11-12 GPH.
The conventional tail eliminates the coupled pitch-yaw response of the V-tail ruddervators. Most pilots find the F33A more predictable in turbulence and crosswinds. The straight tail adds approximately 10 lbs of empty weight and costs 2-4 knots of cruise speed versus the V-tail due to slightly higher interference drag — a negligible difference in practice.
Early Debonairs (33 through C33) with IO-470 engines (225HP) are noticeably slower — 155-160 KTAS cruise — and have lower gross weights. The C33A was the turning point, upgrading to the IO-520 and becoming performance-equivalent to contemporary V-tails.
The F33C aerobatic variant has a slightly different wing (stronger spar) and is certified for aerobatic maneuvers including loops, rolls, Immelmans, Cuban eights, and spins. It handles aerobatics well for its size, though it's obviously not as nimble as a purpose-built aerobatic aircraft.

The F33A's payload-range profile is very similar to the V35B. The 74-gallon standard fuel capacity is slightly less than the V35B's 80 gallons, but range remains excellent. Full fuel with four adults works but limits baggage. Two adults with full fuel provides outstanding range with comfortable payload margin.
